We got carried away but it works out to a great deal for you. Basically it works out to a volume discount for songs. You are really lucky. Order your copy while supplies last! cds are very useful things. For example if you are a woodturner like Lonnie you can use a cd behind the faceplate on your lathe! It makes taking the plate off much easier. They also make really great shims in your dado blade set. I have friends who swear they work fine if you run out of clay pigeons at the skeet range. Hang them in your garden… the flashiness scares away birds! |

Beer Beer Beer
Just like that it is a good idea. Beer is a good thing. Great taste. Less filling! A funny Irish drinking song, it’s about the lad who invented beer. Like Al Gore’s invention, the internet, beer is a great boon to mankind. Maybe Al enjoyed a few of Charlie Mop’s brews while he was using his own creative juices to give us the net. Maybe you should buy this cd to give us the opportunity to buy a beer. Just think of how good you’ll feel about yourself when you are secure in the knowledge that you personally helped a couple of thirsty troubadours enjoy a jar!
Drink It Up Men
Drink It Up Men is the perfect song to follow Beer Beer Beer. Drink it up men is a hugely popular pub song and we do it all the time. Both the song and the drinking. A lot of our performances are in pubs and we firmly believe we should actively support the business we work in… excuse me… I mean we should support the business in which we work. One should never end a sentence with a preposition. If you can read this thank an English teacher.
Golden Jubilee
This is a song about a couple who have been married for fifty years. We have been married for fifty years too… just not to the same people.
Scarlet Ribbons
We worked hard to get the guitar part on this song as dreamy and lacey as we could. It took many tries to get the timing off by just the right amount. You’ll either love it or hate it but give it a try.
God Save Ireland
Here’s a rousing rebel song for sure. Like other Celtic tunes, the music has been widely used with other lyrics. You’ll recognize the music as the same as Jesus Loves The Little Children. This song is about three “rebels” who were hanged for their anti establishment activities.
Ringsend Rose
We learned this song on a ship called Regent Star. She was operated by Regency Cruise Lines after being purchased from Paquet French Cruises where she was the Liberte. Before that (when she was all shiny and new) she was the Statendam… Holland America. One of the cocktail servers was a cute colleen from Killarney. She found out how much we liked Celtic music and she gave us 9 cassette tapes of Irish music. This song was on one of them.
She Moved Through The Faire
This is a haunting Celtic melody which has been around for a long time. At first we thought of doing it as an instrumental with just the lute and the psaltery but the words won out after all… so here it is.
It's A Great Day For The Irish
Golly… the title song! We decided to do this one as an instrumental. It reminds us of a brass band in some ways and that’s not all bad. March around the breakfast table! Are you old enough to remember that line?
Take Me Home To Mayo
Michael Gaughan died on hunger strike. He was from the town of Ballina in County Mayo. He was fighting to have prisoners who were “doing time” for political activities treated as political prisoners… prisoners of war… rather than what are referred to as common criminals. This song embodies his last request to be buried in his homeland.
The Village Of Astee
Yet another beautiful ballad.
The Bunch Of Thyme
This song sounds almost “Burnsian” if there is such a word. There isn’t? Well, there is now. You’ve seen it in black and whatever the background colour is on our web page!
Farewell to Nova Scotia
Here’s a rousing tune from the maritimes in our favourite place, Canada. Almost everyone knows this song about a seafarer facing war. His captain calls and he will go although he is sad to leave his native land and loved ones.
The German Clockwinder
Ok. Time for a comedy song. A little tongue in cheek humour is good for you.
The Old Maid In The Garrett
One good comedy song deserves another.
The Cliffs Of Doneen
One doesn’t here this song as much anymore and that’s too bad. It really is an artistic song. So we’ll keep it alive.
The Orange And The Green
Let’s admit it. Even with all our modern sophistication there is still prejudice in the world. Some people don’t like Chihuahuas. We are mortified and disgusted by this fact. Ireland has a colour problem. It is betwixt the orange and the green. Listen and you shall hear…
The Irish Rover
We’ll sail away from this cd with this song. It is absolutely true. It is not in the slightest bit humourous. We have some land for sale in Florida. We have a bridge for sale in New York City. The cheque is in the mail. The Rolex is real.
